Marco Grasso

Marco Grasso

Marco Grasso is an Italian artist specializing in wildlife art, known for his pictorial portraits of wild animals painted with technical precision and visual sensitivity. Born in Milan in 2000, Grasso has made a name for himself on the contemporary scene thanks to a practice that combines naturalistic observation, rigorous study of the subject, and the expressive freedom characteristic of contemporary painting.

His research focuses on the representation of animal species, often isolated from their natural context in order to be analyzed in minute detail: subjects, which include lions, zebras, wolves, Siberian tigers, giant pandas, and other species, emerge on the canvas in compositions that demonstrate a technical mastery capable of bringing the pictorial image closer to a photographic shot.

In his work, realism is not an end in itself, but dialogues with a contemporary language that leaves room for perception and conceptual dimension: what is seen on the surface is linked to the form, texture, and intensity of the animal's gaze.

Marco Grasso has exhibited his paintings in institutional contexts, including the Natural History Museum of Milan with the exhibition Mimesis. Animal Portraits, where his works were presented in a coherent interpretation of global fauna in its most recognizable and vulnerable aspects.

His practice reflects a continuous interest in nature and animal life, exploring with pictorial rigor the physicality, presence, and essence of the species portrayed, and contributing to a visual narrative that intertwines observation, technique, and contemporary sensibility.
