In Rhyno Petrol Company, Bombardieri presents a powerful image: a rhinoceros immobilized atop a pile of colorful barrels, bound by ropes that contain its weight and freedom. The scene is deliberately paradoxical and disturbing: an imposing animal, symbol of strength and survival, is forced into an unnatural condition that immediately recalls the problematic relationship between nature and industry.
The barrels, iconic symbols of oil extraction, become an unstable and artificial base; their bright color contrasts with the gray and realistic body of the animal, amplifying the visual tension. The work suggests a clear ecological message: the weight of human activities literally weighs on species that should live free.
